HTC One M8 goes on sale in London

From 4PM today (March 25) several London-based stores will be stocking the device, with wider availability coming Thursday (March 27)

The HTC One M8 smartphone, unveiled today (March 25), will be available almost immediately from major retailers and operators – but only in some London-based stores.

Retailers

HTC said six Carphone Warehouse stores in London will be offering the device from 4PM today – less than an hour after it was officially unveiled. These are: Westfield White City, 4 Oxford Street, Westfield Stratford, 262 Oxford Street, 220 Tottenham Court Road, Selfridges.

The device will also go on sale at 4PM in Phones 4U stores on Oxford Street, Tottenham Court Road and in Westfield White City. All Phones 4U stores will stock the device from Thursday (March 27).

Operators

Vodafone sales will start in five London stores (341-349 Oxford Street, 474 Oxford Street, 106 Kensington High Street, Westfield White City, Westfield Stratford). All stores will be selling the device from March 27.

The operator has said the first 3,000 customers will receive a HTC Boombass, a compact speaker.

All EE stores will be selling the HTC One M8 from Thursday (March 27) but the following stores have a head start: 110 Oxford Street, 155/157 Oxford Street, 291a Oxford Street, 393 Oxford Street, Westfield Stratford, Westfield White City – Units 2120 and 1156. It will also be available online and over the phone from tomorrow (March 26).

EE customers who purchase the phone from its website before April 10 will receive a free return flight to one of 12 European destinations (including Amsterdam, Milan and Barcelona).

Three is offering the device in store and online, with the following stores stocking it from 4PM today: 257 Oxford Street, 160 Oxford Street, 423 Oxford Street, Westfield White City, 123B Kensington High Street).

O2 stores which now have the device are: 351 Oxford Street, 146 Kings Road, Westfield White City, Westfield Stratford, 145 High Street Kensington, and 229 Tottenham Court Road.

The SIM-free cost of the handset is £529.95.

Colours

According to HTC’s website, none of the operators or retailers are currently stocking the ‘amber gold’ version of the handset.

O2 and Carphone Warehouse are offering the device in ‘metal grey’, while Vodafone and Three are stocking it in silver. Phones 4U are offering both colours.
