BT (EE) has confirmed that it will be supporting children’s remote learning with 20GB of free extra mobile data per month for disadvantaged families.
The telco has partnered with the Department of Education to support educational studies from home.
It follows the government’s announcement earlier this week that all schools must close as the UK heads into another lockdown.
The additional data is available until the end of the academic year in July 2021, with this accessed through children’s schools.
Earlier this week, rival operator Three also announced support for disadvantaged customers.
Three has offered disadvantaged school children unlimited data so that students can keep up with their studies.
