Thermal imaging camera can monitor 100 people per minute

Vodafone has installed its IoT-powered Heat Detection Camera at the training ground of Premiership rugby team Wasps.

The camera, located at the main entrance to the club’s training ground, will screen the body temperature of every player and member of staff, as rugby teams return to training.

Vodafone claims that the camera can check the temperature of up to 100 people per minute. The camera’s thermal imagery is streamed in real time to a computer or mobile device.

The solution comes provided with an analytics platform that provides an alert if someone is displaying a raised temperature. Vodafone is offering the Heat Detection Camera to businesses on a 12-month contract for £1,711 per month.

It comes with a laptop and tablet, full installation, and 24/7 secure managed service that monitors the camera’s condition.

Vodafone’s deployment of the camera is an extension of its partnership with Wasps. It is the kit sponsor for the Wasps Ladies team, and it also launched 5G in the club’s Ricoh Arena stadium last August, just one month after launching the service.
