Samsung Electronics and IBM (with Ericson) are to provide critical communication solutions for the UK’s Home Office as part of the Emergency Services Network (ESN).

This project is Samsung’s first major public safety initiative in the UK, building on its experience with commercial and public safety networks globally.

Ericsson will be collaborating with IBM to deliver this new network which is set to transform frontline emergency services. The project will utilize products and solutions from Ericsson’s Core Network, and Business and Operations Support Systems portfolios, alongside its mission-critical expertise and other professional services to deliver the new network

The ESN aims to ensure reliable and seamless connectivity for over 300,000 first responders across the UK, prioritising their access to communication during emergencies. Samsun will deliver advanced communication systems designed to improve emergency response. This includes Samsung’s multimedia communication solution, which allows real-time sharing of information to help first responders better assess and react to critical situations.

Public safety communications are vital for national security and community protection. Samsung is honored to contribute to advancing these networks in the UK,” said Everth Flores, Vice President and Head of Samsung Networks Europe. “Our collaboration highlights Samsung’s technological expertise and our commitment to building a safer, more connected society.”
