Sales manager reveals news in product webinar
Polish rugged device manufacturer Hammer will launch a 5G device later this year, according to UK sales manager Jack Edwards.
Edwards revealed the news in a webinar explaining the Hammer brand on behalf of distribution partner Data Select.
Fielding a question about the brand’s relationship with 5G, Edwards said: “I’m really pleased to announce, while I can’t give too much detail at the moment, that later this year, Q4 time, Hammer has got plans to launch a 5G device. It’s where the market’s going and we want to be a part of that.”
Currently, none of the rugged manufacturers active in the UK has launched a 5G-capable rugged device. Hong Kong-based manufacturer Blackview announced last year it would use Mediatek’s Dimensity 1000 5G chipset in a rugged device this year, but has not yet revealed the device.
Edwards also added that Data Select would start offering Hammer’s accessories, which include a car holder and a battery pack that doubles the battery life of the Hammer Explorer smartphone, from 5,000mAh to 10,000mAh.
