Fresh off Apple’s latest iPhone release, EE announces a viewing experience tailor made for the iPhone 12’s 5G functionality
EE has unveiled a new immersive sports viewing service that works via the network’s 5G service.
The operator has revealed Match Day Experience, a service that will be available through the BT Sport app, and showcase a number of augmented reality functions.
The service will be available to EE customers via the exclusive Full Works Plan and is optimised for the iPhone 12’s functionality.
This new service will allow users to watch sports with up to three friends through a split-screen view.
There is also a 360-degrees viewing service that allows users to select from a number of different camera angles and viewpoints.
Users can even access the team line-ups, formations and match stats through Match Day Live, while AR can transform viewers into more exclusive behind the scenes locations such as the tunnel and changing room through the Stadium Experience function.
Customers can add real-time graphics to their screen such as stats or mini-maps as part of the Manager Mode function.
BT consumer division chief executive Marc Allera said: “We continually look for ways to offer customers new and innovative services, allowing them to make the most from their smartphone.
“Our new Match Day Experience features will provide an amazing array of ways to enhance their sports viewing – over the UK’s number one network for 5G.”
The service will launch on October 24 when West Ham United host Manchester City in a Premier League match.
