Vodafone Platinum Partner to sponsor one of the stands at its home ground and also becomes its exclusive mobile supplier
OneCom has signed a two-year deal with Portsmouth Football Club to become one of its main sponsors.
The Vodafone Platinum Partner, which is headquartered in nearby Whitely, Hampshire, will sponsor the club’s Milton Stand at its Fratton Park ground, as well as the perimeter boards and all Portsmouth FC comms.
The agreement also sees OneCom become community-owned Portsmouth’s exclusive supplier of mobile telecoms. OneCom declined to provide any further details on this.
The B2B dealer has also said it will continue to pour money into the club through its Pompey OneCommunity scheme.
This sees any fan taking out a contract with OneCom receiving a free telecoms audit in a bid to save money, with the company donating a percentage back into the Supporters Trust.
Last August, OneCom signed a deal worth up to £100,000 become an official partner of the club. It also saw the start of its donations back into the club, as well as providing 25 Nokia Lumia handsets, primarily to back office staff.
OneCom chief executive Darren Ridge said: “We have, for some time, been an official partner of Pompey for telecommunications and have enjoyed supporting the club with initiatives such as Pompey OneCommunity.
“This new two-year agreement significantly steps up our involvement in the club and we are very proud to now refer to OneCom as the official main sponsor.
Portsmouth FC commercial and marketing manager Micah Hall said: “We have enjoyed an excellent relationship with OneCom over the last year as they have brought very substantial sponsorship revenues to Portsmouth FC and great deals on mobiles and landlines to our fans.
“We now look forward to building on that relationship over the next two years to the benefit of all parties.”
