B2B dealer rated above firms such as Ingram Micro, Mitel, Cisco, Gamma and Peach Telecom by TECHtionary, which says it excels in navigation, clarification, infographics and animation
Olive Communications has been judged as having the best website in the global technology and telecoms industry by online technology magazine TECHtionary.
The assessment was carried out by the US-based firm last month, evaluating the websites and Twitter feeds of more than 900 firms. Companies assessed included Ingram Micro, Avaya, Mitel, Cisco, Gamma Telecom and Peach Telecom.
TECHtionary said the Olive website excelled in three areas: it is easy to navigate, clearly explains the solutions provided by Olive and provides real-life experiences through case studies, and provides text information as well as “exciting” and useful imagery, infographics and animation.
Of the Twitter feeds monitored, TECHtionary judged 39 per cent were self-promotional and just three per cent rated as ‘Good’ or ‘Very Good’, including Olive’s page, @olivecomms.
The accolade for Olive comes four months after the Vodafone Platinum Partner refreshed its brand to simplify the communications offering for customers who are becoming “bamboozled” by the increasing use of technology jargon. As part of this refresh, a it launched its revamped website on April 2 to focus on the simplification of its message to customers.
Olive marketing director Dan Roche (pictured) said: “Differentiating (as a B2B service provider) in an incredibly competitive and fast-moving market is really hard. A developing and strong brand, and effective digital communications has really helped us to achieve that, so it’s great to have this recognition, especially as we’re being compared to some of the largest tech firms in the world.
“We always try to ensure our web and social media content is not just about us. We want it to add value to our customers, to help them be successful in their roles, and to allow them to navigate the rapidly changing world we are all working in. This approach has seen us significantly increase visitors, engagement and enquiries, so there is also a clear business outcome from this activity.”
TECHtionary is based in Colorado and provides almost 3,000 tutorials on telecoms, networking, broadband, WiFi, VoIP and PBX systems.
