CEO Ridge keeps bonus pledge after B2B dealer claims Platinum Partner for fourth year running

OneCom has paid out £150,000 in bonuses to staff after scooping Vodafone’s “Platinum Partner of the Year” award last month.

The B2B dealer’s chief executive Darren Ridge (pictured) had promised all 150 non-sales staff £1,000 each if the company won the operator’s top partner award for the fourth year running,

It achieved that feat at Vodafone’s annual channel conference at the Lowry Hotel, Manchester on June 26, which saw the operator share its plans to become the number one total communications provider and label partners as “more important than ever”.

OneCom, which manages more than 225,000 mobile connections and employs 400 people across offices located in Whiteley, Camberley, Brighton, Plymouth, Leeds, Telford, Southampton, Norwich and Edinburgh, has won the award every year since the launch of Vodafone Partner Services in September 2010.

Record half year

Last month the firm revealed it had its best six months trading ever, having secured £20 million-worth of business and adding 25,000 new mobile connections in the half year to April 30, a 10 per cent increase on its previous best in the six months ending October 31, 2013.

Ridge said: “We’re a growing firm and now handle more than 225,000 connections – but right from the very beginning our primary focus has been on providing the best customer service in the business.

“Our staff work incredibly hard to achieve this and I’m pleased to honour my promise to reward all non-sales staff with a £1,000 bonus in recognition of their efforts. Everyone is pleased to have played their part.”
