Virgin Media O2 will donate 12,000 refurbished smartphones in 2025 to Good Things Foundation and environmental charity Hubbub, its largest device donation program to date. The initiative will provide around 1,000 refurbished smartphones a month people to judged to be in ne a month to charity partners through Hubbub’s Community Calling programme and Good Things
A study of 2,000 adults showed households across the UK are storing electronic items because they haven’t had a chance to sort them out
The UK is known to produce the most electrical waste, and as per the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) forum’s global report, 5.3 billion mobile phones will be thrown away this year and e-waste will grow to 74 million tonnes a year by 2030
If successful the project will expand out to other areas in the country
