O2 to slash data roaming charges

O2 is to reduce the cost of EU data roaming charges for contract and prepay customers from £7.05 and £15 per megabyte, respectively, to £3 in Ireland and western Europe.

The prices apply to all mobile data appliances. All other zones will now be charged at £6 per megabyte.

Prepay has also been reduced from £15 per megabyte to £3 per megabyte. O2 was unavailable for comment.
