Micro-P strikes 3 deal for bundled laptops

IT distributor Micro-P has signed an airtime distribution contract with 3, and will start to offer mobile broadband from next week.

Micro-P is to bundle Samsung laptops with 3 mobile broadband dongles for resale among its IT reseller base, which numbers around 4,000 active monthly accounts.

It is also to launch straight 3 voice and data packages with Nokia handsets at the end of the month. Micro-P will make Samsung handsets available in due course also, and is looking to pitch 3 airtime to mobile dealers and IT retailers in the New Year.

It has structured the package for the IT reseller channel so they take an upfront payment of £50 per broadband/laptop bundle with no risk of clawback.

Micro-P is also offering a 24-month hardware warranty, anti-virus protection and an Office software suite.

3 head of indirect sales Peter Butler said: “This as an ideal opportunity to grow our B2B connection numbers. We now have the right tariffs, the right support, and the right commissions. The demand is there.”
