ITA: TIM debuts Italian LTE

Italian network operator TIM has completed trial of an LTE (Long Term Evolution) trial in conjunction with Huawei in Turin.

It is the first such trial of next generation mobile broadband in Italy, and used 14 LTE cells on TIM’s existing network, enabling download speeds of over 140Mbps.

TIM said: “This is a milestone in the development of network technology in line with the future goals of Telecom Italia.”
