HTC extends Brightpoint exclusive

HTC said last week it will cap its partner programme with Brightpoint, on which it has spent £200,000 to date, at 100 reseller partners.

HTC head of retail and distribution Dave Catt said HTC has extended its exclusive UK distribution deal with Brightpoint until 2010.

He said: “If the programme is made available to everybody it will not be exclusive. People will aspire to join it if there is limited availability to sign up. 100 members is a manageable quantity.”

The programme launched in June and has 64 members.
