Guru Technology acquires MID DIgital Solutions wholesale base

Northampton telecoms provider Guru Technology has acquired the wholesale customer base of MID Digital Solutions.

MID Digital Solutions is the sister company of MID Communications which claims to be the largest independent franchise of O2 in the North West

Guru gains around 320 business customers approximately £750,000 in annual recurring billing revenue as it accelerates an acquisition-led expansion strategy (main pic l-r John Bennetts, Arran Kirton, Danny Simpson).

The deal follows a competitive sales process in which MID Digital invited offers from nine potential buyers. Guru emerged as the successful bidder.

Guru is on the hunt for telecoms and IT businesses with annual turnover of up to £1.5 million as it works towards a £5 million turnover target before ultimately moving to £10 million.

The acquisition excludes MID Digital’s retail mobile business and is the latest step in Guru’s ambition to grow into a leading independent B2B telecoms provider.

Guru said the business already has another acquisition agreed, due to complete within the next two months, and is targeting a further three acquisitions during 2027.

Guru Technology directors Arran Kirton and John Bennetts said the acquisition fits the company’s long-term growth strategy and strengthens its wholesale business.

Guru says MID customers will gain access to a wider portfolio of services, including managed IT, electric vehicle and solar solutions, alongside AI-powered telecoms products. Existing support arrangements will continue during the integration process.

MID Digital Solutions Danny Simpson said the company wanted to refocus on its core mobile business after developing its wholesale operation.

Finding the right partner for our wholesale customers was incredibly important and Guru felt like the natural choice”
