The operator is the only technology company to be handed a role in the framework
Vodafone has been named as the only technology communications company to be awarded a place on the Scottish National Framework for mobile data and voice services.
The newly established service has been designed specifically for public sector organisations such as central government organisations, local authorities, police, fire, and health and social care.
This framework began on March 17 and runs up until March 16 2022, while there is an option for a further year extension.
Vodafone will provide its products and services to these organisations, as it looks to grow digital engagement with local communities and explore the potential for digital service provision.
Vodafone Business UK director Anne Sheehan said: “This is brilliant news for Scotland. We know that easy access to services is a major priority for public sector organisations; and we look forward to working closely with the Scottish public sector to explore how we can best support them, particularly during today’s challenges. Our aim is to help Scotland in its ambition to be a world-leading digital nation.”
Last year Vodafone expanded its presence in Scotland, by announcing Glasgow as one of the first UK cities to receive its 5G network.
