Virgin Mobile O2 pledges 12,000 refurbished smartphones to charity partners in 2025

Virgin Media O2 will donate 12,000 refurbished smartphones in 2025 to Good Things Foundation and environmental charity Hubbub, its largest device donation program to date.

The initiative will provide around 1,000 refurbished smartphones a month people to judged to be in ne a month to charity partners through Hubbub’s Community Calling programme and Good Things Foundation’s National Device Bank,

The smartphones will be sourced from  O2 Recycle and will help vulnerable people access essential online services such as job applications, healthcare appointments, and digital learning.

Additionally, Virgin Media O2 will provide free mobile data to eligible recipients through the National Databank managed by Good Things Foundation.

This initiative is part of Virgin Media O2’s Better Connections Plan new environment, social and governance (ESG) strategy which aims to support a million people with affordable and free connectivity.

Since 2009, O2 Recycle** has processed over four million devices and paid out more than £350 million to consumers for their used phones.
