Up to 100 of the new roles will be apprenticeships, with roles spread nationwide
Virgin Media/O2 has set out plans to create 400 employees across the UK by the end of the year.
The jobs boost also includes 100 apprenticeship roles, while there’s more than 300 field engineer positions on offer.
It comes just months after the £31bn merger of Virgin Media and O2 was completed, with the company planning to invest £10bn in the UK in the next five years.
Virgin Media O2 has confirmed that that jobs will be available across the UK, including in London and the South East, the North West and Scotland.
The firm is looking to boost its rollout of full fibre broabdband, with apprentices earning a telecoms operative level 2 apprenticeship qualification on completion of the scheme.
Commenting on the workforce expansion, Virgin Media O2 director of people partnering, talent and careers Nicola Moore said: “We’re delighted to offer hundreds of roles across the UK to give people the chance to start a new career in an exciting, fast-paced industry at the cutting edge of technology.
The telco is also adding focusing on its retail division, with an additional 100 jobs to be made available in this sector nationwide. These roles range from retail advisors to store leader roles.
Virgin Media O2 chief commercial officer Gareth Turpin added: “The retail positions we’re recruiting play a vital role in supporting and serving our customers as they continue to return to the high street.”
