Fixed line and mobile service provider to offer participants a position tailored to their performance and skills upon completion of the year-long programme

Unicom has kicked off its seventh Graduate Management Programme, offering participants the chance to earn a permanent position at the company.

The 12-month scheme, which has taken place annually since 2007, sees six graduates selected through a two-stage interview process take part in the paid, full-time programme.

Successful applicants will train while rotating through nine of Unicom’s key departments to gain new skills and build up an understanding of the company.

On completion, Unicom, which employs more than 500 people across 12 regional offices, will offer graduates a position tailored to their performance and skills, demonstrated during the scheme.

The scheme has resulted in a number of graduates taking key positions within the company since it began, including recruitment manager Aurelia Bowerbank (2007), senior data analyst Gareth Davidson (2007), sales support manager Jacques Guerineau (2008) and programme manager Holly Almond (2009).

Unicom has also relaunched its Community Support Scheme to attract more applicants. The firm is offering up to £500 worth of funding to local community projects and charities through the scheme, which began in 2009.

Unicom CEO Chris Earle (pictured) said: “I’m proud of the results we’ve gained from both the graduate scheme and the local support scheme, and I’m excited to see how the new schemes progress. We believe investing in the communities we work in is important, as is investing in high-calibre staff.”
