The UK trails countries such as as Saudi Arabia, South Korea and Australia
The UK is lagging behind when it comes to 5G experience according to data from Opensignal.
Opensignal revealed the findings during its ‘5G user experience’ study, which compared the UK with a number of nations.
While the UK did climb three places in the rankings, there is a lot of work to do when it comes to overall experience.
The UK recorded average download speeds of 133.5Mbps, which was significantly lower than the leaders Saudi Arabia (414.2Mbps) and South Korea (312.7Mbps).
Overall the UK’s 5G speeds were recorded as 5.2 times faster than 4G, again much lower than Saudi Arabia’s 14.3 times faster.
A big stumbling block for the UK’s 5G experience is the lack of 5G connection available to 5G customers.
Only 4.5 per cent of 5G customers in the UK have the service available to them on a regular basis.
The UK was also bottom of the overall 4G and 5G experience with average download speeds of 32.6Mbps.
