Europe-wide agreement will see distributor offer resellers partners Lookout’s cloud-based security portfolio
Tech Data Mobile has partnered with security software provider Lookout as part of a pan-European distribution deal.
The agreement will see TDM offer licenses for Lookout’s cloud-based Premium product to its reseller partners as an additional revenue opportunity.
Lookout’s applications offer security across Android and iOS devices and includes automatic protection from viruses, malware and spyware, lost and stolen phone remediation, privacy controls, and backup.
“Your phone is the center of your life, and keeping it safe is one of the first precautions that individuals take,” said Lookout EMEA VP Gert-Jan Schenk.
“Through this partnership, we’re able to tap into Tech Data’s comprehensive European distribution network to expand the reach of Lookout’s consumer solution, while providing real value across these resellers.”
Security is a hot topic in the industry following a number of high profile cyber attacks on businesses including TalkTalk and Carphone Warehouse.
Figures from the Department for Culture, Media and Sport released last week revealed two thirds of large UK businesses have been hit by a cyber attack within the last year. Around 70 per cent of these attacks involved viruses, malware or spyware.
