Partnership aids firm’s plans to become largest travel market SIM seller
SIM card seller Sim Local has made its first North American deal, partnering with US airport-based electronics retailer InMotion.
The partnership will see Sim Local provide SIMs to 125 InMotion stores across the US, starting this month.
Customer will be able to purchase the SIMS, which offer a variety of plan options, at free standing displays and countertops, with InMotion staff set to receive detailed training to provide customers with the information to make informed purchasing decisions.
This is Sim Local’s second move into the international travel retail segment, following its partnership with MVNO Lycamobile to sell SIMs at WHSmith shops in UK airports last October.
Sim Local’s chief business development officer Andrew McClellan said that the partnership was crucial to aiding the company’s ambition to become the largest seller of SIM cards in the global travel market.
“Successfully entering into the United States is the next step in Sim Local becoming the world’s largest seller of SIM cards in the global travel market,” he said.
“This partnership expands our retail footprint even further and helps us offer money-saving solutions to customers worldwide. Our extensive travel retail experience is being introduced to the US through InMotion and by working side by side with our local colleagues, we will be able to reach and understand the unique requirements of international travellers in the region.”
