Integration of Trustonic’s solutions with Samsung Knox

Samsung and cybersecurity firm Trustonic have announced a multi-year strategic partnership.

The partnership will see Trustonic’s Asset Lifecycle Protection Service security platform integrated into Samsung’s Knox security software on a global scale. According to Trustonic, this gives operators and distributors a single-cloud solution to manage and protect Samsung smartphones and tablets throughout the supply chain.

The platform offers protection for smartphone operators throughout a device’s lifecycle, to prevent fraud and protect it from theft.

Trustonic also works in app and device security, claiming to manage more than 70 million mobile devices worldwide through its partnerships with mobile operators and manufacturers.

Outside of telecoms, the Cambridge-based firm also works in fintech, automotive, IoT and payment.

Trustonic has an initial commitment to one million Samsung devices, with ambitions to scale further.

“This is a critical partnership that meets the demands of our mobile operator customers,” said Trustonic CEO Dion Price. “As the choice in smartphones increases, so does the need for secure device financing solutions.

“Trustonic’s solution provides mobile operators with the opportunity to increase adoption of device financing options across Samsung’s smartphones within their Android portfolio.”

Additionally, this month saw Trustonic appoint telco veteran Jon French as regional vice president of sales.

Commenting on the partnership, he wrote: “As we emerge from covid-19, trading challenges will still exist and targets need to be met – but with the right partners network operators can still trade hard without increasing their bad debt, whilst managing genuine customer payment issues in a humane way.”
