Tech Data Mobile says B2B sales of Samsung’s flagship range have matched consumer demand for the devices

Tech Data Mobile said it has seen strong demand for the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 since being appointed a distributor for the Korean manufacturer in June.

According to the Basingstoke-based distributor, sales for the S6 range has seen as much uptake amongst business customers as it has from consumers.

The news comes just weeks after Samsung launched a new B2B reseller partner programme, as exclusively revealed by Mobile News.

According to Tech Data Mobile managing director Matt Child, who joined the firm in June, the co-ordinated management of the launch programme has been “a great success.

“We have placed a really strong focus on the Samsung Galaxy S6 from day one,” he added. “That and the excellent support we’ve received from Samsung and the extensive and creative campaign they have run during this period has delivered some very positive results and we expect S6 sales to kick-on from here and get even stronger.

“We have seen excellent shipment levels through telco customers as well as retailers and a very healthy level of sales going into the SMB and corporate B2B channels as well.

“This is a clear indication, not only that Android is becoming much more accepted and used as a business mobile platform, but also that Samsung Galaxy is becoming as much of a recognised and trusted brand in the B2B sector as it is in the consumer market.”

Tech Data recently appointed a new Android business development manager, and also offers devices from other Android manufacturers including Sony, ASUS, HTC, and Huawei. It is also one of only three authorised Apple distributors (along with Ingram Micro Mobility and Westcoast).

Tech Data Mobile refused to disclose sales figures due to strict NDAs.

Samsung Mobile UK head of retail and distribution Marcus Stone said: “Tech Data Mobile has done a fantastic job in taking the Galaxy S6 family to market and raising awareness of its unique design and features. We continue to see strong growth week on week and this is a testament to their ability to effectively execute across all of their sales channels.

“Samsung market share is increasing and we’ll continue to support our distributors’ efforts to drive sales growth in all sectors of the market.”
