Distributor growing sales team to help penetrate UK’s major companies

Genuine Solutions is looking to muscle in on its accessory distribution rivals, by boosting its presence on the UK high street, with the likes of Dixons Carphone and mobile operators among its targets.

The Surrey-based firm, which distributed more than six million accessories both locally and internationally last year, has forecasted turnover will grow by a quarter to £30 million for the 12 months ending April 31, 2015.

Managing director Bav Majithia (pictured) told Mobile News that Genuine now has relationships with more than 800 UK independent dealers, supplying more than 2,000 products lines from brands including LG, Alcatel, Jabra and Belkin. It also distributes to A1 Comms, Mobile Fun and Chitter Chatter.

Corporate focus
Majithia said the company, which was formed in 2006, is now keen to make its mark in the corporate end of the market, a space dominated by the likes of Brightstar, Exertis and Tech Data,  and is in the process of bolstering its sales team by almost half to 16, to help penetrate some of the UK’s biggest companies.

“We’re continuing to expand our sales team and that is a priority for us over the coming weeks because we want to be able to look at different channels and markets,” he said.

“We’re growing internally because our customer base continues to grow, so our plan is to take the next big step by supplying accessories to some of the UK’s largest high street and online retailers. I’m confident we’ll soon have the team to cater for that influx of business.”
