The Chinese vendor launched in the UK last year
Chinese smartphone manufacturer Realme has increased its shipments by 157 per cent year-on-year despite the current global pandemic.
Realme, which launched in the UK last year and has now entered 27 markets worldwide is seventh according to Counterpoint Research’s global shipments.
The vendor currently has 35 million customers worldwide, with 10 million added since January.
This is despite the overall smartphone market declining 13 per cent in the first quarter of the year.
In the UK, Realme has recently launched its 6 series and 5G flagship X50 smartphones.
The brand which was initially founded in 2018 as a sub-brand of Oppo and is owned by BBK Electronics Corporation.
It has been reported that Realme has sold 21 million smartphones in India.
