Push into telecoms continues with third acquisition in two months
Fuel card, fleet management and telematics giant Radius Payment Solutions is continuing its push into telecoms with the acquisition of Macclesfield-based provider Reliance Networks.
The acquisition of Reliance is Radius’ seventh in the past seven week. Three of these acquisitions, including Reliance, have been in the telecoms space; last month, Radius acquired dealers Pure Telecom and Trinity Maxwell, and appointed industry veteran Ray Ferris as group managing director for telecoms.
Reliance provides consultancy and full communications solutions for businesses, as well as offering the Multinet mobile solution which enables UK roaming across multiple networks. Its team will remain unchanged, continuing the trend Radius has set in its other telecoms acquisitions.
Reliance’s acquisition shows Radius’ intent to form a well-rounded telecoms division covering mobile to UCaaS and hosted telephony. Speaking to Mobile News last month, Ferris said of Reliance: “They’re going to give us capability in non-mobile, hosted telephony and IT, and will give us some engineering capability in the north.”
Radius CEO Bill Holmes (pictured, right) added: “The acquisition of Reliance Networks supports Radius’ ambition to grow a market leading telecoms division. Reliance is a really good fit for our growing telecoms business as it has some unique technical capacities that will complement those of the other companies that have recently joined this division.”
