Phones offer most basic experience with added 4G connectivity

HMD Global has broadened its portfolio of 4G Nokia feature phones with the launch of the Nokia 215 4G (pictured left) and 225 4G (pictured right).

The two devices are designed to provide a basic phone experience with 4G connectivity.

They both come with wireless FM radio, 3.5mm headphone jacks and 1,150mAh batteries.

While the 215 4G is without a camera, the 225 features a 0.3MP snapper. Unlike HMD’s other ‘smart’ Nokia feature phones with 4G connectivity, they do not run the KaiOS operating system, which offers apps such as YouTube, Facebook, WhatsApp and Google apps for feature phones.

Instead, users will have to use the in-built browser to connect to social networks over 4G.

“By bringing 4G to the Nokia 215 4G and Nokia 225 4G without compromising the accessible price point, we take another step towards our mission of providing low-cost access to global connectivity to those who need it the most – the billions of people who remain unconnected,” said HMD Global’s chief product officer Juho Sarvikas.

“With that in mind, we are building further on a winning formula that offers all the essentials with high levels of durability and reliability at an incredible value.”

The 215 4G is available today from O2 at £34.99. Customers can buy it for £15 with £10 top up. The 225 4G will be available from Nokia.com from November 9 for £44.99 in Classic Blue and Black colours.
