Nimans gave eight students from Bury College a glimpse into a how a telecoms distributor operates on a daily basis.

The students (pictured) were invited to the company’s headquarters in Pendlebury, Manchester. They spent half a day on March 3 learning how fixed-line phone systems and two-way radios operate, before being given a guided tour of the building.

Introductions to some of Nimans’ 200 staff members were also made. Each student was shown how Nimans’ various departments, including sales, logistics, marketing, purchasing and IT, all function.

College spokeswoman Janet Tye said: “The staff at Nimans were so welcoming and friendly. They gave our students a fantastic day and they had great fun whilst gaining a valuable insight into how a big market leading company operates.”
