The Microsoft Band 2 will be available to purchase in the UK from mid-November. The smart wearable was launched at an event in New York on October 6 alongside the Lumia 950 smartphone, Surface Pro 4 tablet and Surface Book laptop.

Pre-orders for the device are available now, with shipments going out on November 19. The device costs £199.99 and is available from the official Microsoft store and Amazon.

The Microsoft Band 2 is the follow-up to the first Microsoft Band released in October 2014. It is able to track its owner’s heart rate, steps, calories burnt and sleep quality. Users can also view emails, calendar entries and receive text and social media notifications.

The successor to the first Microsoft Band features some new updates. It has a curved AMOLED display, which Microsoft claims helps it fit more naturally on the wrist. There are also additional sensors able to measure physical exercise which involves going up and down the stairs. The battery has also been moved underneath the band’s screen, as opposed to being stored on the side like first Microsoft Band.

Those in the US can get a Microsoft Band 2 from October 30. UK customers who can’t wait until November will be able to get the device shipped to them by Big Apple Buddy from the US release date. Big Apple Buddy is a concierge service based in New York. It ships products released earlier in the US to countries where the products become available at a later date. The company handles the entire delivery process, alongside packaging and necessary documentation required to ship the products overseas. Delivery costs are determined for each individual product, with a minimum service fee of $40 per order.
