Departure comes two years after distributor acquired security firm Cohort Technologies, which Smee founded
Exertis managing director of Value-add solutions Grahame Smee has left the distributor after two years with the firm, it announced.
In October 2013, Exertis (then Micro P) acquired technology distributor Cohort Technologies, which Smee founded in 2007.
Following the acquisition, Smee was made MD of Exertis’ newly-created VAD division, a role he has held until the firm announced his departure.
He said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed the past two years and seeing the results of my contribution to the business result in further success for Exertis. I wish the business and the great teams I worked with every success in the future.”
During his time at the VAD division, vendor partners have included the likes of ShoreTel, Microsoft, McAfee, Dell, Samsung, and Citrix.
Commenting on the announcement, Exertis MD Gerry O’Keeffe, said: “There’s no doubt that Grahame has been instrumental in combining our existing VAD business with that of the Cohort business, to create a dynamic and growing division that has flourished to become a key part of Exertis’ IT proposition.
“On behalf of the whole team, I would like to thank Grahame for his contribution to the business, and his hard work. I wish him well for the future.”
