Industry veteran leaves distributor to focus on driving mobile recycler’s UK business
Redeem has appointed former Brightstar UK sales director Jon Miller as its new UK managing director. He will take up the position in November.
Miller will be responsible for driving business performance in the region and providing strategic guidance and direction to the management team.
He takes over from chief commercial officer Mark Chambers, who has held the role on an interim basis since the start of the year.
Miller has over two decades of telecoms industry experience and for the past nine years has been sales director at Brightstar, where he headed up all UK services including insurance, buy-back, trade-in, financial services, reverse logistics, repair and connectivity.
“Our industry is going through a period of rapid evolution as network operators move away from traditional two-year contracts and the device subsidies that come with those plans,” he said.
“Redeem has recognised the need to adapt to these changing market dynamics and this presents a very exciting opportunity for me as UK managing director and for the rest of the team, as we look to keep the business at the forefront of customer service and innovation.”
Delight
Redeem CEO Paul Adams added he was “delighted to have someone with such an impressive industry pedigree joining at a very exciting time for the business.”
The announcement of Miller’s appointment comes as Redeem forecasts it will return £20 million to consumers in the weeks following the Apple iPhone 7’s launch last Friday, while half of all devices traded in by consumers between September and November will be an iPhone.
