Huawei pivots UK strategy with launch of new products

Chinese firm shuffles away from mobile

Huawei has announced that it will be launching a series of new products as it shifts its UK strategy away from mobile. 

The Chinese vendor has today announced the launch of the Huawei Watch 3, Huawei Watch 3 Pro, Huawei FreeBuds 4, MateView and MateView GT. 

The Huawei Watch 3 and 3 Pro offers continuous health monitoring and are the first watches with eSIMs installed within them which allows for independent calling. Both watches will run on Huawei’s HarmonyOS platform. 

The watches offer innovative temperature sensor capabilities as well as skin temperature tracking. Automatic fall detection and SOS calling is another feature added to Huawei’s latest addition to its watch series. 

Both watches support over 100 workout modes and all-day activity recording. 

The Pro variant features more premium materials with sapphire glass for the watch front and titanium for its body. It will also feature a ceramic shell. 

The Huawei Watch 3 offers a 14-day battery life while the Pro variant offers a 21-day battery life. 

Freebuds 4

Huawei also unveiled its latest earbuds – the Huawei Freebuds 4. 

The Freebuds 4 features a 40kHz ultra-wide frequency range and fast-charging capabilities. The buds offer 2.5 hours with 15 minutes of charging time and 14 hours with 30 minutes of charging time. 

The earbuds offer 22 hours of music playback with the case and four hours of music playback without the case. 

MateView

Huawei also revealed the launch of its first flagship standalone monitor. 

The Huawei MateView is a 28.2-inch 3:2 panel that supports a native resolution of 3840 × 2560. 

Offering a 94 per cent screen-to-body ratio, the Huawei MateView also lets users connect their mobile phone, notebook and tablet to the monitor wirelessly. 

Huawei also unveiled the The HUAWEI MateView GT which is the company’s first curved monitor. The curved 21:9, 34-inch display supports a resolution of 3440×1440 and supports a peak brightness of 350 nits and a contrast ratio of 4000:1.

Availability

The Huawei Watch 3 will launch from June 18 (starting from RRP: £349.99) from the Huawei Store.

The Huawei Watch 3 Pro will launch from June 28 (starting from RRP £499.99) from the Huawei Store and selected retailers.

The Huawei FreeBuds 4 (wired charging edition, RRP: £129.99) will launch on June 21 from the Huawei Store and selected retailers.

The Huawei MateView GT (RRP £499), the Huawei MateView (RRP £599), and the Huawei MatePad 11 will launch in the UK in the coming months. Further details will be shared at a later date.
