Chinese manufacturer Huawei has appointed former Apple creative director Abigail Brody as its chief designer of user experience.
Brody (pictured) leads a team of 80 user interface designers to design the look of all Huawei products.
Before joining Huawei, Brody spent a decade from 2001 as Apple’s creative director. Here she was involved in the design and development of the first iPhone, iOS 1, the Mac operating system and iCloud. After working at Apple, she moved on to work as eBay and PayPal vice president of global design for just under two years from December 2011. Her duties included managing a global team of 300 to work on the visual design of PayPal’s website and mobile services.
Huawei CEO Richard Yu said: “Abigail’s rich experience will help substantially improve Huawei’s user experience design development. Improvement in user experience design has and will continue to be a key focus of Huawei.”
