eSIM solutions provider eRoaming, has joined forces with sports tech startup StumpEye to deliver real-time match footage, performance data, and replay tools using eSIMs for instant connectivity.
The tech turns cricket stumps into smart wireless camera hubs. The StumpEye system embeds wireless HD cameras into cricket stumps, capturing footage and analytics without fixed infrastructure. eRoaming’s embedded eSIM will be able to connect the StumpEye system automatically in over 200 countries, even in rural or underserved areas.\

The partnership links eRoaming’s global eSIM connectivity and StumpEye’s stump-integrated HD camera system I European cricket. The collaboration is being trialled during live matches in the German Cricket Union’s DCU Bundesliga, offering a plug-and-play solution that streams footage without the need for local SIMs or fixed broadband.
StumpEye has been used in Indian semi-pro tournaments like the Navi Mumbai Premier League and the Indian Street Premier League demonstrating adaptability from local parks to televised competitions.
“This is more than just connectivity,” said eRoamning founder Ravi Navaratnam, “We’re enabling smart sports experiences with seamless, global data access. Thanks to our eSIM technology, StumpEye is now instantly deployable—no infrastructure, no fuss.”
“This isn’t just about sport, it’s a strong signal to the wider tech ecosystem that eSIM isn’t limited to travel. It’s becoming a critical enabler for data-driven, infrastructure light innovation across industries. From live sports to IoT, we’re proving how eSIM can power next-gen products in real world environments. The pilot under the German Cricket Union is already live, and we see huge potential for scaling this across smart event tech, logistics, wearables, and beyond”.

StumpEye founder Mihir Mehta, Founder explained the product’s origins: “It started with trying to help my own son train better—and it’s evolved into a scalable tool for the global cricket community. eRoaming’s wireless backbone allows us to go anywhere with real-time delivery.”
For eRoaming, the partnership move eSIMs beyond the travel and enterprise base into live sports and IoT use cases. It’s part of the company’s broader roadmap to support connected devices in industries such as logistics, wearables, and event tech.
“Our mission is to enable wireless mobility wherever it’s needed—not just for travellers, but for real-world tech ecosystems,” said Navaratnam. “This partnership with StumpEye is a powerful example of eSIM being used to solve on-the-ground problems.”
