Court cuts fine by two thirds
A French court has slashed a €1 billion against Apple to €372 million for alleged anti-competitive behaviour reports Reuters.
The fine was imposed in 2020 for allegedly pressuring retailers into fixing prices of non-iPhone products. Apple said agreed with the fine reduction but is seeking to appeal to have the fine overturned entirely.
Reuters reports the fine was slashed because the court decided to drop one of the charges related to price fixing, and lower the rate originally used to calculate the fine. (More follows)
