EE has become the first operator to announce reopening of stores
EE and BT have confirmed retail stores are to reopen from June 15.
The stores have been closed since around the beginning of the lockdown due to the coronavirus outbreak.
The store openings will be part of a phased rollout initially.
In a statement the operator confirmed that measures are in place for colleagues and customers to operate safely.
BT retail director Lee Frankham has said the operator is ready to reopen and provide a personal service.
“Keeping our customers and our people safe is our number one priority, and we’ve been working tirelessly to introduce measures so everyone can be confident to visit our stores knowing that we can look after them and each other.
“We’re thankful to our amazing retail colleagues who have been helping customers online during the past month, and we are looking forward to welcoming customers back to our stores,” added Frankham.
Despite the store closures for the past two months, EE and BT has still offered tech support via its call centres.
