Smart and feature devices both offer 4G connectivity
Doro has launched its first partnership with Sky Mobile, which will see the MVNO offer the specialist vendor’s newest smartphone and feature phone.
The Doro 8050 and 7030 are now available from Sky Mobile starting from £13 per month and £9 per month respectively for 2GB data, with both phones costing nothing upfront.
The 8050 (pictured, right) is a smartphone with Doro’s characteristic assistance button that can send an emergency alert to up to five emergency contacts. It runs Android 9 Pie with Doro’s EVA interface that facilitates reading messages and seeing app icons.
It has 16GB internal memory and can support a microSD up to 128GB.
The 7030 is a flip feature phone that has 4G connectivity,GPS, a 3MP camera and WhatsApp and Facebook capability.
Both devices will be compatible with Doro’s forthcoming ‘Response by Doro’ offering, with contacts relatives and Doro alarm centres in the event of an emergency when the assistance button is pressed.
Doro managing director for the UK and Ireland Peter Marsden said that the phones’ packaging will not include any additional plastic, to cut down on waste.
Earlier this month, Doro partnered with giffgaff to donate 500 Doro phones to isolated elderly people across the UK.
Meanwhile, senior-friendly smartphone rival Emporia announced four new UK retail partnerships last month.
