Scott has several years’ worth of experience within the telecoms industry

CTech Group has appointed former Carphone Warehouse Ireland CEO Peter Scott as its new CEO.

He has been appointed to oversee the network enabler’s expansion across Europe.

This will begin with Ireland next year, followed by Germany, Spain and the Nordics, through partnerships with operators, service providers and retailers.

Scott’s appointment will see CTech founder Ashley Bailey step into the role of chief innovation officer.

Bailey will now be responsible for developing the API technology and launch of an equivalent broadband service.

Prior to this role, Scott has also worked for six years at Sprint Connect, a joint venture between US telco Sprint and Dixons Carphone.

He was also responsible for launching MVNO iD Mobile in Ireland and oversaw the UK and Ireland launch of Dixon Carphone’s multi-play proposition. He has recently provided consultancy to BT, Tele2 and telco scale ups.

Expansion

Commenting on his appointment Scott said: “I am looking forward to helping the team build on this success and extend its reach into Europe, as well as disrupt other areas of the market with connectivity solutions for new services including broadband and multi-media.”

Bailey added: “Now is the right time to begin our expansion into European markets and grow new services like broadband and TV.

“Peter’s wealth of experience in the industry and expertise in growing scale-ups like ours makes him the best candidate to deliver our ambition to strengthen our line-up of products and services, and ultimately replicate our UK success overseas.”

CTech has agreements in place with all O2, Three, Vodafone, Virgin Mobile, Lebara, and Virgin Media.

The company claims to have 63 per cent of the UK’s operator market covered by its service, with plans to pass beyond 90 per cent next year.
