VoIP provider takes on almost 50,000 large corporate customers as it looks to drive its acquisition strategy
Coms Plc has acquired the database and customers of World Telecom in what is the VoIP provider’s first purchase since its establishment in 2009.
The firm now takes on 50,000 large corporate customers including Virgin Atlantic, Xerox, BOC Gases, Thermo Electron, Bank of New York, American Express, British American Tobacco and Rio Tinto.
Coms said it is already generating £50,000 of revenue that its direct sales force will be able to exploit. It added that the acquisition will provide it with an increased blue chip customer base into which it can sell its existing telephony services.
The company also announced that it has licensed fully automated telecoms software Ask Merlin for an initial six month period.
Coms Plc CEO Dave Breith (pictured) said: “We are confident our first acquisition in buying World Telecom will make the company fully scalable and we are looking forward to strengthening our acquisition strategy. Ask Merlin is a highly professional, efficient software which will assist us further in our growth plans for the future.”
