Chess adds new piece with Pinnacle CDT acquisition

Pinnacle CDT provides data, telecommunications and IT support services to more than 1000 customers

Chess ICT has acquired Pinnacle CDT from Pinnacle Technology Group for £2.8 million.

The Alderley Edge-based airtime distributor will add Pinnacle’s full range of data, telecommunication and IT support services to its range, including the firm’s 1000-strong customer base.

Pinnacle CDT has offices in both Stockton-on-Tees and Glasgow, with its 27-strong staff set to be absorbed into Chess’, taking its total number of employees to over 500.

It is the latest in a string of acquisitions over the last few years for Chess, including the likes of Parachute IT, ebilz, Integra ICT, Avenir Telecom and The CRM Business. Overall, Chess has acquired more than 80 businesses over the last decade.
