Which? Recommended provider extends 5G and VoWiFi to customers

BT has extended its MVNO agreement with utilities service provider UW for five more years.

The partnership enables UW’s 300,000-strong mobile base to access EE’s 4G and 5G network, as well as benefit from its VoLTE and VoWiFi functionalities.

Telecoms Plus-owned UW, which relies on customer word-of-mouth in favour of advertising, has partnered with BT for more than 20 years. It is currently a Which? Recommended Provider for broadband and mobile.

“This extension will enable us to further improve our Which? award-winning mobile service, by giving our customers access, from next spring, to 5G, VoLTE and VoWiFi,” said UW CEO Andrew Lindsay.

“It supports our aspirations to materially grow our mobile base over the medium term and ensures we will be able to maintain our current strong competitive position as data usage continues to increase.”

BT Wholesale managing director Alex Tempest added: “BT and UW have had a successful relationship for many years, and we are pleased to continue supporting the successful growth of their business through our leading network capabilities.

“As Europe’s largest Wholesale provider, we are acutely aware of the increasing importance customers place on network experience so it’s great that UW have put their trust in BT to support their business for the long term.”
