Vodafone gold partner begins marketing iConnect solution to cleaning firms
Advanced Mobile Communications has started selling its lone worker solution iConnect to cleaning companies, following its successful implementation in the health and social care sector.
Using an NFC chip in handsets supplied by the firm, which it provides alongside airtime from Vodafone, O2 or Orange, cleaning staff can tap in and out of locations allowing them to be tracked and monitored by their employers in real-time.
The iConnect solution has been sold by Advanced into the home care sector for the last 12 years and it now has 20,000 users. The software is available as a stand-alone product compatible with any NFC handset, but many customers also get handsets and airtime from the dealer – which is currently a Vodafone’s gold partner.
Sales director Chris Griffin told Mobile News he expects the company to earn platinum status with the network in 2013.
Discussing the expansion of its solution, Griffin said: “It can prove problematic, time-consuming and costly to effectively manage a remote workforce. The use of iConnect removes the uncertainties around if and when workers have arrived at a customer site and whether they have completed their tasks, optimising productivity, improving compliance and cutting administration costs.
“It enables cleaning providers to have a level of transparency that is key for effective compliance with customer contracts. Workers can also be reassured that the solution improves lone worker safety, proving a ‘win-win’ for both employer and employee.”
