The move north of the boarder is the first office outside the North East for the communications provider
Activ Technology, which provides comms, IT and energy services to businesses, has opened a new office in Dumfries, Scotland, as it looks to expand north of its Newcastle base.
The office houses five employees to start with and is led by Dumfries resident and Activ Technology senior business development manager Gregor Cumming.
Alongside Cumming are senior engineer and technical consultant Michael Quinn, business support advisor Jade Nicol and technical assistants Hasabe Qamar and Russell Layden.
Activ Technology managing director Ian Gillespie said the dealer is actively recruiting sales people to help build on the 60 Scottish customers it has already.
He also said the opening of the dealer’s first office outside the North East of England capitalises on a significant “business opportunity” that has arisen in Scotland but could not be drawn on further details.
He added: “We want to add some strength behind the customers we already have in Scotland, as well as cross-sell all of the services we provide.
“This is the first true geographic expansion since we launched in 2010, and we’re seeing this as an opportunity to expand our business.”
