Alcatel is also sponsoring the event which brings together YouTube video bloggers

ZTE has become the official mobile sponsor of Summer in the City, Europe’s “biggest annual gathering of video bloggers, YouTubers and content creators.”

The event has been ongoing since 2009, with this year’s taking place between August 12 and 14 at London’s Excel. Over 13,000 attendees are expected, with the festival designed to give an in-depth view of the YouTube blogging community.

Branding from the Chinese manufacturer will be present throughout the venue. There will also be a stand for attendees to preview the Blade V7 Lite smartphone due for release next month.

ZTE UK & Ireland CEO of devices Jin Renyuan said: “With the convention proving hugely successful in the past, we look forward to joining the experience this year and having the opportunity to introduce even more young talent to the ZTE brand.”

Other Summer in the City sponsors include Alcatel, YouTube, Penguin Publishing and the University of Lincoln. Mobile News has contacted Alcatel for more information on its involvement with the conference.

This is the latest in a number of sponsorship deals signed by ZTE over the last year, including football teams Sevilla and Borussia Monchengladbach.
