The new device was launched alongside a cheaper Moto G variant

Motorola has launched a new G smartphone, which it claims has a superior camera than the flagship iPhone 6S and 6S Plus.

The fourth generation Moto G comes with a 5.5-inch HD screen, 13MP rear camera, a 3,000mAh battery and an octacore processor. Motorola claims the phone can get six hours of power with just a 15-minute charge.

The Moto G Plus (pictured) has some additional features. A 16MP rear camera comes with technology designed to take sharper and more focused pictures in both light and dark environments. According to DxOMark, an industry standard for cameras, the Moto G Plus has a higher-quality rear snapper than the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus.

It also comes with a fingerprint sensor that can be used to unlock the phone and authorise purchases on the Google Play store.

Tesco Mobile, Argos and Amazon will be stocking the regular Moto G from early June for £169. The Moto G Plus will be available mid-June exclusively from Amazon for £199.

Lenovo K5

The Lenovo K5 (pictured below) will also be available to purchase from early June 2016, with Amazon, Tesco and Carphone being confirmed stockists. Prices start from £129. Tech Data is also the official UK distributor for the device.

It comes with an octacore processor, five-inch HD screen and Dolby Atmos dual stereo speakers. Lenovo claims the speakers enable the device to deliver ‘crystal clear sound.’ At the back is a 13MP rear camera, whilst the front has a 5MP snapper. Internal storage is 48GB.
