IMO confirms Q2 Plus smartphone to launch for sub £40 later this month

IMO Q2 Plus 2019 is expected to retail below £40 

Verve Connect challenger brand In My Opinion (IMO) has announced its IMO Q2 Plus 2019 smartphone will launch with Vodafone and Argos later this month.

The official release date has yet to be confirmed, however it is expected to retail below £40 and will be available in “True Blue” and “Love Pink” colours.

One of the key new features on the smartphone is the facial recognition system which allows users to unlock the device using their face.

The ‘True Blue’ version of the handset will launch at Vodafone this month and will be available in all high street stores plus the operator’s online store.

While the ‘Love Pink’ version is exclusively available through Argos retail stores as a  Vodafone product.

The Q2 Plus 2019 runs on Android’s Android Go operating system and features a quad core 1.4GHz processor and removable 1,500mAh battery. There is also 1GB RAM and 8GB of memory with expandable memory of 32GB via a microSD card slot.

Speaking to Mobile News IMO chief marketing officer Chris Edwards said: “We believe this phone to be a significant volume driver in the pre-pay market.

“We are very excited to launch this device with Vodafone and Argos. We have brought the best value smartphone to the UK market this autumn with a great price and class leading quality.

“IMO are committed to working with partners in bringing great products to market that provide much needed differentiation on the high street.”
