2012 predictions: Mobile Fun managing director Mo Hussain

Mobile News
February 2, 2012

Huawei and ZTE will start to be recognised more to consumers under their own brand names, according to Mobile Fun managing director Mo Hussain, as end users are driven towards cheaper devices

“Smartphones will continue to dominate handset sales and smartphone penetration will increase as Huawei and ZTE begin to sell devices under their own brand names. The desire to own a smartphone, coupled with the recession, will steer consumers towards cheaper devices.

“The mobile market will be buoyant as new devices appear, and there will be a media storm around the first Motorola Google phone.

“It will be a make-or-break year for Nokia as it starts to claw back market share, and its relationship with Microsoft will continue to be strengthened as the two companies work together.”
