Daisy Distribution managing director Dave McGinn sees three key focus points for distributors – the operators push into unified communications, Cloud services impacting on the channel and opportunities for LOB applications
“Daisy Distribution expects to see most aspects of the telecoms market take gradual steps forward as we head into 2012.
“However, from a product and service perspective, there are three likely areas of distributor focus in the coming year, each of which will offer opportunities for significant and sustained growth.
“First is the network operators’ drive towards unified communications, each of which has its own unique spin on the common theme of converging a business’s wired and wireless environments. This has attracted too much investment in recent times for it not to be a trend. The launch of business broadband services to complement the existing mobile voice and data/fixed-line convergence is all part of this.
“Secondly, we can expect to see Cloud services challenge the channel.
“Lastly, as the power of the UC shift opens up, there will be opportunities for LOB applications to be served to users regardless of location or platform.”
