Security has become a key focus for Chess in recent times, representing more than 20 per cent of the Group’s sales

Chess has strengthened its security capabilities by acquiring cybersecurity specialists Armadillo.

This is aimed at allowing the technology provider’s cybersecurity team to better serve its 1,000-plus strong UK blue-chip enterprise customers.

Stevenage-based Armadillo carries out vulnerability assessments on the ability of firms to handle cyberattacks.

Chess says the deal will enable it to enhance its testing capabilities, with security now representing more than 20 per cent of the group’s sales.

The company’s product portfolio also includes managed and professional services.

Talking about the acquisition, Chess founder and executive chairman David Pollock said: “Cybersecurity is critical for our customers and businesses around the world.

“Cyber threats, hackers and ransomware attacks are more proficient and prolific every day.

“Armadillo’s expertise further strengthens our capability to deliver end-to-end services to our enterprise customers.”

Armadillo director and founder Daniel Compton added: “Being part of a bigger business has many benefits and opens new growth opportunities to our security consultant team.”
